From the early morning buzz at Hyde Park to the final steps along Bondi Beach, the energy was unreal. With more than 90,000 participants taking part in this year’s City2Surf, the streets were alive! Crowds lined the streets, music pumped from front yards, and strangers became instant cheerleaders for one another. Despite the rain (and let’s be honest, some seriously soggy socks), the atmosphere was all smiles, high-fives, and determination.
As part of the FARE Charity Superstar team, Mind The Sip Founder Ange Chappel joined fellow runners and walkers committed to supporting an Australia free from alcohol harm. It wasn’t just about tackling 14 kilometres – it was about standing behind a cause that matters. Together, the team has already raised over $26,000 for Voices of Change, helping to amplify community voices, challenge the alcohol industry’s harmful influence, and create healthier, stronger communities. And the best part? Donations are still open for the next four weeks – so there’s still time to chip in and help us go even further. You can donate here.
Events like this are about more than the distance. They’re about connection, purpose, and showing up even when the weather isn’t playing nice. It’s the conversations at the start line, the encouragement from complete strangers along the course, and that shared sense of achievement when you finally cross the finish line. Whether you were out there running, cheering, or supporting from afar, thank you for being part of it.
If you want to see the spirit of the day for yourself, watch this reel – it’s a snapshot of the high vibes, big smiles, and unstoppable energy that carried us all the way to Bondi Beach.
